Kathleen Carson

Kathleen's Tea Room is named after Tami's Great Grandmother, Kathleen Mae Carson.

Grandma Kathleen felt strongly that women should be able to own property, have bank accounts, and work. She also wanted to own her own business (I think she'll smile from above the day we open, to see a business in her name) and felt that people should be willing to work hard and make a good living. She would often follow up a story about someone she knew, or met, who had made it in business with, "If they can make it, you can too!"

Grandma Kathleen made each of her grandchildren feel as if they were her favorite. She had a huge heart of love and passed that love out freely. She was a great cook and had a wonderful home open to all. She also loved to garden and her personal garden in Maryland won many prizes for its beautiful flowers. She also loved to dance and fish. She loved life.
